Bend Deduction Calculator
Bend Deduction (BD) represents the amount subtracted from the total flat length of a sheet to account for the bend region. It is the difference between the sum of the two leg lengths and the flat length of the part.
BD = 2 × OSSB - BA
where:
- BD = Bend Deduction
- OSSB = Outside Setback = (R + T) × tan(A/2)
- BA = Bend Allowance = π × (R + K × T) × A / 180
- R = Inside Radius
- T = Material Thickness
- K = K-Factor
- A = Bend Angle (degrees)
